Ironman 70.3 Cartagena 2026

What the course asks

Serve acclimatazione specifica.
Nuoto in acqua calda senza muta29 °C: zero galleggiamento extra e rischio surriscaldamento già in acqua.
Non bruciare watt all'andata.
Piano sodio/liquidi provato in allenamento, usa ogni ristoro.

Preparation tips

What to do from today to race day

Raffreddamento attivo in corsa

Come arrivare

Dagli USA tipicamente via Panama City o Bogotá.

Expo e check-in

Expo e check-in al Centro de Convenciones; T1/T2 in una piazza a nord del centro congressi, con forte presenza di polizia. Nel 2016 code di 60-90 minuti all'expo: vai presto.

Bici in transizione

Dopo gara

Wheels for this course

A rule of thumb from this course: 11.6 m of climbing per km and moderate wind exposure. It is guidance, not a count. (hilly)

Front wheel
35-55 mm deep

Rear wheel
50-60 mm. Use a disc only if the descents are not technical and the weather is stable

Tyres
28-30 mm, tubeless if possible. Choose pressure by weight and road surface, not by habit.

Check the weather and the wind forecast on race week: on windy days, drop a depth step on the front wheel.

Start at 60 g/h if you have not trained your gut, 80-90 if you have. Never try new products on race day.

Hot course: drink to thirst plus the amounts shown, favour salt, and use ice and water on the run.
